A letter from the founder
I have watched people I care about struggle with their weight for years. A diet, a program, a new app, another diet. And the same ending every time. Back where they started, often more tired than before.
Today there is actually new hope. Modern medical treatments have changed the possibilities. But they are rarely sufficient on their own.
That is precisely where most digital clinics fall short. A prescription is sent out, some general advice is given, and then it goes quiet. That is not care. That is distribution.
At Ebba we do it another way. If the doctor assesses that medication is suitable based on approved indications, it becomes part of the plan, but never the whole solution. What we build around the treatment matters just as much: a doctor who really stays with you, and AI support that is at hand between visits, when small questions come up on a Sunday evening or a Tuesday morning.
It is always your doctor who is responsible for the medical assessment and decides on your plan. The AI works only as support in your everyday life, nothing more, and that line is clear.
People deserve more than a prescription. They deserve someone who is there the next day. And the day after that as well. That is the foundation of what we are building at Ebba. And we have only just begun.

Medical responsibility
Ladan Mansouri, MD. PhD. is Medical Director of Clinical Governance at Ebba. She is a specialist in general medicine and is responsible for our medical routines and leads our patient safety work.
All medical assessments are made by licensed doctors with competence in obesity care. That covers whether a treatment is suitable for you, what is prescribed, and when a change is needed. It is not an algorithm that decides this.

Safety
Ebba Health AB is a registered care provider with IVO, the Swedish Health and Social Care Inspectorate. The care provider ID is Org-2025-00279649, company reg. no. 559485-2518. Alireza Behrooz is verksamhetschef, responsible for how the operation functions and for the routines being followed. He is not a doctor and does not decide on your care or treatment.
Care is delivered by licensed healthcare professionals in Sweden. Dr. Mansouri holds medical responsibility and leads our medical routines. If something serious happens, we as the care provider are required to report it to IVO under what is known as lex Maria.
We have patient insurance with If Skadeförsäkring AB, in line with the Swedish Patient Injury Act's requirement on all care providers.
Your health data is protected by both the GDPR and the Swedish Patient Data Act (2008:355), which always applies in addition to the GDPR within Swedish healthcare. Your doctor documents every care contact in a medical record. By law the record is kept for at least ten years after the most recent entry and therefore cannot be erased on request. Doctor and AI
Your doctor is responsible for every medical decision: whether a treatment is suitable for you, which treatment you receive, what dose applies, and when something needs adjusting. The AI coach is with you in everyday life between visits. It offers ongoing support and motivation, gives reminders, helps you follow the plan, and gathers material for your next conversation with the doctor. It does not diagnose and never changes your treatment. If there are signs of something serious, it does not answer on its own but contacts your doctor.
The AI coach is an AI system, not a person. Doctor's appointments are always with a doctor.
